Yogurt Cures Bad Breath
Three Foods That Can Cure Bad Breath
One of the major causes of bad breath is the bacteria in our mouth. It is the hydrogen sulfide (which smells like rotten eggs!) which one of the main Volatile Sulfur Compounds, or "VSCs" produced by bacteria that make the horrid smell. Bacteria exist in our mouth and perform many functions. You should not be concerned about this information. However, for whatever reason, the bacteria will suddenly start overproducing and as such start creating a lot of the sulfide. Some foods have been connected with natural remedies. The cure for bad breath may be as simple as the foods that we eat.
The following are the top three foods that can cure bad breath:
1. Herbs- Parsley is a natural deodoriser (chlorophyll) and is a great aid in the elimination of bad breath due to the high level of chlorophyll. Chew parsley for a fresher smell. Many over the counter breath fresheners have parsley as an ingredient. Mint leaves chewed or by soaking the leaves in hot water. Mint is a big ingredient in most breath -freshening products that you buy. A drop of peppermint oil on the tongue is effective as a breath freshener. Fennel seed chewed, helps with digestion. This is commonly offered after meals in India. Cloves ingested also helps with digestion. It can be very spicy so as an alternative just keep it in the mouth for a minute for the same benefit. Rosemary, sage, and thyme are effective as well. Any green herb can be used to combat the issue.
All green herbs can also be used as a tea when stewed in hot water. Herbs are healthy and readily available, as well as being a cheap alternative for everyone to use.
2. Lemon – This is a great natural cure, that is also used as a household cleaning agent. The two are not directly connected but the idea is the same. To feel you breath cleansed and for a immediate result, suck on a slice of lemon. Repeat as needed. You can also, rinse the mouth with lemon juice diluted with water, but we careful here as lemon juice does contain sugar, and sugar can promote the growth of bacteria. So only use this solution a once or twice in a month.
3. Yoghurt – Eating plain (sugarless) yoghurt for up to six weeks can reduce the levels of oral bacteria by a large mouth (up to 80%). it also works on the bacteria on your digestion,
For a effective result, eat around 3-ounces of sugar-free yogurt which contains live cultures of Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermopholis (Check the labels!) every day. Check the labels of the yoghurt to make sure that they contain these live cultures, and also to ensure that they are sugarless (sugar promotes bacteria growth).
If the origin of your bad smelling breath is dental or something else, then the solutions I have offered in this article will not be effective. As such you should go to a dentist if the problem continues and have your teeth and gum checked out for any infection.
